I’m an independent journalist in Alaska and a contributor to Northern Journal, where I cover mining and oil. My work has been published in newspapers and radio stations across Alaska and in Grist, High Country News, Inside Climate News, Mother Jones, Wired and Preservation. I’ve reported on agriculture and oil development in rural Alaska; the Yukon River’s vanishing salmon; a microchip gold rush in Oregon; and urban ‘food forests’ and community fridges across the United States. Away from my desk, I enjoy farming, floating down rivers and taking long walks in wild places.
